Hi there, I’m Steph — I’m an independent filmmaker that brings creativity, pragmatism, and authenticity to each and every project. Whether it’s Producing a web series, Acting in a commercial, 1st ADing a feature film, or Art Directing a music video, I am committed to telling the best story possible.

My varied roles behind and in front of the camera, as well as my “previous lives” in health education, marketing, interior design, and project management, have shaped the way I approach my work. Although I continue to fine-tune that approach with each new endeavor, my core values remain constant.

As a leader, I hold myself and my team to high standards and am a strong advocate for fair and equitable treatment of all those on (and off) set. I sincerely believe that people are the most important part of the filmmaking process and that each individual brings a unique perspective – whether it comes through directly on the screen or is experienced more subtly behind the scenes. 

As an indie filmmaker, I am very accustomed to being scrappy; I pride myself in finding effective ways to make a little (i.e. budget, personnel, resources, time) go a long way. Over the years I have thoughtfully developed my best practices– ideally, they involve a solid plan based on needs and desired outcomes. But in the fast-paced, ever-evolving world of filmmaking, I understand–and even enjoy–the importance of having flexibility and rolling with the punches. 

Each project requires its own unique blend of people, materials, and systems, but regardless of the tailored ingredients and ratios, I always put communication at the core – dialogue should not apply to only actors and directors! From the top of the above-the-line to the bottom of the below-the-line, two-way communication with my team members is paramount.
